Acupuncture Care for Veterans

Acupuncture Care for Veterans

You Served Our Country. Let Us Help Care for You.

At Acupuncture del Soul, we are honored to provide acupuncture care for Veterans in the Tucson community.

Eligible Veterans may be able to receive acupuncture services through their VA health care benefits and the VA Community Care Network (CCN), allowing them to receive authorized care from a qualified provider in their local community.

If you are a Veteran receiving VA health care, acupuncture may be available to you as part of your care plan.

Does the VA Cover Acupuncture?

The Department of Veterans Affairs recognizes acupuncture as one of the complementary and integrative health approaches that may be included in a Veteran’s medical benefits when determined appropriate by their VA health care team.

For eligible Veterans, the VA may authorize acupuncture treatment with a community provider through VA Community Care Network.

This means you may be able to receive acupuncture at Acupuncture del Soul with the cost of authorized treatment handled through your VA benefits.

How Do I Get Started?

The process is usually simple:

  1. Talk with your VA health care provider.
Ask whether acupuncture may be appropriate for your condition or health goals.
  2. Ask about a CCN referral.
Let your VA care team know that you would like to receive acupuncture through a community provider.
  3. Receive VA authorization.
VA Community Care Network requires a referral and authorization before treatment can begin.
  4. Choose Acupuncture del Soul as your treatment location.
Once your care has been authorized, you can choose your provider through CCN. If you request to be seen at Acupuncture del Soul for your treatments, you will be contacted by our office.

Acupuncture as Part of Whole-Person Care

Acupuncture takes a whole-person approach to health and wellness. Rather than focusing only on an isolated symptom, Traditional Chinese Medicine considers the relationship between the body, mind, lifestyle, and overall state of health.

Veterans may seek acupuncture as part of their care for concerns such as, but not limited to:

  • Acute or chronic pain
  • Muscle and joint discomfort
  • Headaches
  • Stress and tension
  • Sleep difficulties
  • General wellness and relaxation
  • Other conditions for which acupuncture has been recommended as part of a Veteran’s care plan

Your individual treatment needs and VA authorization will determine which services are included in your care.
